Four European national forest certification systems re-endorsed by PEFC

The national forest certification systems of Luxembourg, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland have been re-endorsed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), confirming that they continue to meet PEFC international requirement.

New study indicates that climate change increases forest disturbances

According to a new study published in Nature Climate Change on 3 August 2014, forest disturbances (such as disturbances from wind, bark beetles and wildfires) increased in European forests during the first decade of the twenty first century, continuing the trend seen in the twentieth century.
