State of Europe's Forests 2011
In preparation of the 6th Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe, which was held on 14-16 June 2011 in Norway, FOREST EUROPE Liaison Unit in Oslo in cooperation with UNECE/FAO Timber Section and FAO, carried out a new enquiry on the state of forests and forest management in Europe. National correspondents from the 46 signatory countries in the pan-European region were invited to provide information on the status and changes of forests, their management and applied policies. Reporting was done through two questionnaires: one on quantitative indicators for Sustainable Forest Management, and the other on qualitative indicators for Sustainable Forest Management, which also included reporting on national implementation of FOREST EUROPE commitments since 2007.
Results from the enquiries on quantitative and qualitative indicators are presented in the report State of Europe’s Forests 2011. A separate report has been published on national and pan-European implementation of FOREST EUROPE Commitments 2008-2011.
The results and outcomes of the State of Europe's Forests 2011 Report are presented in an individual website section. Read the results of the State of Europe's Forests 2011 Report here.
